Board of Trustees Scholarship
(Incoming Freshmen)
Awarded to the top ten percent of District 505 high schools. The scholarship will cover full tuition and fees for a maximum of two consecutive years (including two summer terms). Students must be U. S. citizens or permanent residents and graduated from an accredited public or private high school with districts located within the boundaries of Community College District 505. The recipients must maintain full-time student status, successfully complete a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours fall and spring semesters, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the first academic year. Students who break their enrollment period either by not meeting the minimum requirements for continuation or not completing their academic program in two years will not be eligible for an extension. Recipients must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year.

Agricultural Business Management Career Grant

Established by the Champaign County Farm Bureau Foundation and Parkland College for incoming Champaign County high school graduates enrolling as full-time freshmen in Agricultural Business Management. Based on academic achievement, school and community involvement. Selection of the grant recipients will be made by the Champaign County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship Committee. Personal interviews may be required. $250 will be credited to the recipients tuition account for the fall semester with the unused portion applied to the following spring tuition bill.

Equine Management Career Grant
(Incoming Freshmen and Equine Management)
Established by the Champaign County Equine Event and Parkland College for incoming full-time freshmen enrolling in the Equine Management program. Based on academics, school and community involvement, and must be a resident of Illinois. Selection of recipients is made by a Parkland College faculty committee. Personal interviews may be required. The award will be credited to the recipient's tuition account for fall semester with any unused portion applied to the following spring tuition bill.

Salute Achievement Recognition Scholarship
(Incoming Freshmen-Culturally, Racially, or Ethnically Diverse Students)
In cooperation with the Urban League of Champaign County, the college awards up to ten (10) tuition and fee scholarships annually to culturally, racially, or ethnically diverse high school seniors. The students must be United States citizens or permanent residents, residents of District 505, demonstrate good citizenship, and have the potential for success in a career or transfer program. The award pays tuition and fees for two years (including two summer terms). All awardees must complete the first year with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 and maintain 12 hours in fall and spring. Students who break their enrollment period either by not meeting the minimum requirements for continuation or not completing their academic program in two years will not be eligible for an extension. PARKLAND FOUNDATION
William C. Annin Memorial Scholarship
(Automotive)
Established by Ellen Sullivan in 1985, this award was renamed in memory of Bill Annin, the first coordinator of Parkland's automotive program. Incoming freshmen enrolling full time in the Automotive Program and residing within Parkland College District 505 may apply. Award shall be applied toward tuition, fees, and books for the following fall semester.

Enos Phillips Memorial Scholarship

The recipient of this award shall be a graduate of Urbana High School, Central High School or Centennial High School, be enrolled in the business program. Scholarship requires an essay on “Why you want to be in the business profession”?

Robert P. Pope Scholarship

Established by C & U Poster Advertising Co. in memory of Robert P. Pope, the award assists students who are supportive of the free enterprise economic system, and is based on financial need as well as merit.

M.G. and Gladys Snyder Scholarship
(African-American)
Assists African-American students who are graduates of a District 505 high school. Student must have earned a minimum of 30 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better, be enrolled as a full-time student, except those completing program requirements, and submit an application for additional financial assistance through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Timothy Collins Stafford Scholarship
(Older Freshmen, In-district)
Established by Sidney Stafford to honor the life and professional aspirations of his son, Timothy Stafford, the recipient shall have delayed continuance of his or her education for at least 10 years after graduation from high school and have experienced life challenges during that period. Students must demonstrate financial need, be a full-time student with a GPA of 2.5 or better, a resident of District 505, and plan to transfer to the University of Illinois. A preference will be given to a student majoring in elementary education.

Applicant must be at least a female high school senior planning to enter an accredited two or four year college or university the following fall in either a Law-related field or in a Women's Studies program. City of Champaign Fire Explorer Scholarship
The City of Champaign understands that preparing oneself for a career in fire/emergency services requires not only a commitment to community service, but a financial commitment as well. To that end, the City of Champaign is proud to assist an outstanding Explorer in pursuing his or her fire/emergency career aspirations. Any active Champaign Fire Explorer Program member who has met the minimum objectives of the program is eligible to apply. Other criteria are: 1.The applicant must be a high school senior or graduate. 2.The applicant must attend Parkland College and enroll in the Fire Service Technology, AAS degree program. Candidates should submit a completed application as well as the following: 1.Official high school transcripts; 2.Three letters of recommendation from each of the following (no relatives): an Explorer Post advisor, a high school representative, a community representative; 3.Letter of acceptance from Parkland College; 4.A 500-word essay on "Why I've chosen the fire service as a career path."

This award is intended to help Native American students of any age, from any U.S. tribe, and in any state, striving to get an education. Parke-Davis Epilepsy Scholarship

Awarded to high school seniors, or college freshman, sophomores, or juniors who are under a physician's care for epilepsy. The eligibility requirements include academic and extracurricular activity achievements, a letter from the student's physician, two letters of recommendation, and confirmation of the students academic status.

Offered to high school seniors who work for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and to those associates' children ineligible for the Walton Foundation Scholarship (due to parents' length of employment or not working full-time). This is an academic scholarship, and applicants will be judged on the basis of grades, financial need, academic record, and ACT/SAT scores.

Walton Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to a college-bound high school senior. Recipient must be the child of a Wal-Mart Store, Inc. associate who is employed full-time (28 hours per week or more) for one year as of March 1. This is an academic scholarship, and applicants will be judged on the basis of grades, financial need, academic record, and ACT/SAT test scores.

William Zekan Memorial
(Interest in Horses)
The Bill Zekan Memorial scholarships are awarded annually by the Arabian Horse Trust. Recipient must be able to demonstrate financial need, must have an interest in horses, and currently must be a high school senior or college freshman. At least two letters of recommendation and a recent photograph (preferably a head and shoulders) MUST be submitted with application. Please include a one-page essay on why you should be considered for this scholarship.

Zonta/Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship

Student must be a woman under the age of 19 who will graduate from high school during the current school year. The YWPA award was established to encourage young women to enter careers or seek leadership positions in social policy making, government, and volunteer positions.

INTELLECTUAL FREEDOM AWARD. Awarded to a student for the best essay (1,000-1,500 words) on intellectual freedom. The essay will be published in the commencement edition of the Prospectus.
WILLIAM P. MYERS HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIPS. Established by William P. Myers, president of Franchise Management Systems, Inc., Champaign. Awarded each fall to an individual student or divided between two students with sophomore standing enrolled in the Restaurant or Hotel/Motel Management program. Evaluation is based on demonstrated commitment to the hospitality industry, academic achievement, and involvement in college activities.
PARKLAND COLLEGE ATHLETICS SCHOLARSHIP. Tuition and fee waivers for athletes in the men’s and women’s basketball, men’s baseball, women’s softball, women’s volleyball, men’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer.
PARKLAND COLLEGE GENERAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP. Two-semester tuition waiver to the top ten scoring Parkland College GED completers. Must be resident of District 505. The second semester award is contingent upon a minimum 2.5 GPA and successfully completing 8 credit hours in the fall semester.
PARKLAND COLLEGE STUDENT ACTIVITIES SCHOLARSHIP. Tuition waivers for up to 12 credit hours per semester to high school graduates, or those with high school equivalency, who participate in student activities.
PARKLAND COLLEGE MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP. Tuition and fee waivers to incoming high school graduates who are majoring in music. May be renewed for an additional year.
PARKLAND COLLEGE THEATRE SCHOLARSHIP. Tuition and fee waivers to high school graduates who are majoring in theatre. May be renewed for an additional year.
PARKLAND COLLEGE TRUSTEES SCHOLARSHIP. Awarded to the top 10 percent of graduating seniors from each high school in District 505 who attend Parkland full-time immediately after graduation from high school. Pays all resident tuition and fees for two academic years.
