Move on to regional tourney Nov. 4

Tuesday, October 27, 2009
The #1 ranked Parkland College Cobras traveled to Godfrey, Illinois, to face Lewis and Clark for their last conference match of the season. The Cobras won decisively by the scores of 25-13, 25-17, and 25-15 to wrap up another Mid-West Athletic Conference title. They will open Region 24 tournament play on Wednesday, November 4 at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Lincoln-Danville game.

Alyssa Elmore and Paige Lay led the offense with 14 and 13 kills, respectively. Brittany Monken added 11 kills and Lucy Coleman added 9 kills along with 3 aces. The win improved Parkland’s record to 33-4 overall and a perfect 7-0 in the M-WAC. Parkland has now won 16 straight M-WAC titles and has only lost one match during that time period.

The Cobras travel to McHenry for their final two matches of the regular season on Saturday; they will play nationally ranked Kishwaukee and the host school for the third time this season. The Cobras have won all four of their previous matches against the two teams.

Congratulations to the Cobra Volleyball team!
