In-Demand Online Business Programs at Parkland College

Those with a few college credits will find online business programs, classes most suitable

Wednesday, November 08, 2017
Business is the most popular study topic for online college students, according to research; at least a quarter of the country's undergraduates enrolled in online programs are business majors (Clinefelter & Aslanian, 2015).
As Parkland College opens registration for a new semester, it is responding to current demand by offering business programs that busy community residents can fully complete online.
The school's Business/Computer Science and Technologies department is inviting residents to learn more about its Management AAS and Business Administration AS degree programs as well as its Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneur Basics certificates programs. The requirements for these programs can be met completely by online courses.

Online Business students take in the learning where and when they need it: evenings, weekends, or whenever they have the time. The department offers individual Business courses online as well, in areas such as accounting and marketing.
Community residents with a few college credits but no college credentials will find the convenience of the online business programs and classes most suitable, according to Derrick Baker, Parkland’s learning support dean.
"There are a lot of people in our community for whom life got in the way of finishing what they started," Baker said. "Taking classes online at Parkland College gives you flexibility to earn your business degree even if you work or have other obligations. Parkland provides specific value to online students in its quality, cost, and the fact that, since it is local, students can always decide to take some classes in person later or come to campus and find extra support from our faculty or staff."
Accredited for online courses since 2001, Parkland College delivers small online class sizes, personal attention, and targeted support for online learners. Its online AAS and certificate offerings lead to entry-level career work, while credits from its online AS, AA and AGS degree programs transfer to four-year schools for advanced degrees. The Business faculty, experts in their fields, draw from real-world, professional experience.
Community residents will pay the in-district tuition rate of $164 per credit hour for online Business courses; those out of District 505 will pay $245.50 if they live in Illinois and $300.50 if they live in other states.
