New Officers Elected to Parkland College Student Government

Newest slate of officers an engaged, diverse group

Parkland College students recently elected the following fellow students as its newest slate of Student Government (Senate) officers.
 Washington
An engaged and diverse group, Parkland College Student Government officers act on behalf of the student body to provide a means of student expression; administer student affairs; make aware student needs, opinions, and attitudes; and promote and develop activities that enrich campus life.
 
AlsayyadCampus-wide elections are held in twice annually for the president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and 10 senators.
 
President: Sophomore Abram Washington of Urbana is studying communications. He graduated from Urbana High School in 2015.
 
Student Trustee: Sophomore Shahad Alsayyad of Baghdad, Iraq, is studying computer engineering. She graduated from Huda Shaarawi in 2011.
 Santafe
Vice-President: Sophomore David Santafe-Zambrano of Bogota D.C., Colombia, is studying international relations and political science with an emphasis on diplomacy and Latin American relations. He graduated from Institute Cudad Jardin Norte in 2011.  


Senators
MaigaSophomore Nafissa Maiga of Bamako, Mali is working toward the AES degree in environmental engineering. She graduated from the Lycée Français Liberté in 2015.
 
Israel Gomez of Mexico City, Mexico is studying dental hygiene. A 2014 graduate of Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School, he is completing his second semester at Parkland.
 
Freshman Terron Miller, a 2017 Urbana High School graduate, is Gomezstudying family/marriage counseling.
 
Christian Chambers of Arlington Heights graduated from John Hersey High School in 2017. The freshman is studying business.
 
Patrick Clavey of Champaign is a computer science and business major in his third semester at Parkland College. He is a 2016 graduate of St. Thomas More.

Roumaissa Kibech of Annaba, Algeria, is a 2012 graduate of School 18 Février. A biological sciences major, she is in her third semester at Parkland College.Miller
 
Marlene Mufuta, in her third semester at Parkland College, is a general studies major from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She graduated from Centennial High School in 2016.
 
Gabrielle Perry graduated from Bloomington High School in 2015 and is working to earn her AS in Media Production. She is in her third semester at Parkland College.
