Summer Youth Employment Internship at Giertz Gallery

Fourteen-week internship gives students experience in gallery operations

Wednesday, May 17, 2017
Giertz Gallery at Parkland College is offering three paid internships for summer/early fall 2017.

Interns will work approximately 15 hours per week for up to 14 weeks (beginning June 5). Application review will begin immediately and continue until positions are filled.

The Giertz Gallery at Parkland College Summer Youth Employment Internship is designed to give participants a range of experience in the operation of a contemporary art gallery within an educational institution. The purpose of the internship is to provide high school students with meaningful on-the-job training and experience working in a nonprofit arts organization and educational environment. Through this program, students will develop a deeper comprehension of the work involved in nonprofit arts administration, gain a better understanding of the role of the arts in communities, and develop "real life" business skills that can be put to use in their future careers. Students will also gain exposure to possibilities for a career working in the arts.

Please visit Parkland College Human Resources for more information or to submit an application.
