Explore and enjoy the beauty of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Modern Wing during a summer art trip sponsored by Parkland Art Gallery and Parkland Community Education.
On Thursday, July 12, a Chicago Architecture Foundation guide will take you on an exterior tour of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Modern Wing, the latest addition to the museum’s extensive campus. Defined by themes of light and sustainability, the wing presents architect Renzo Piano’s vision within the context of the museum’s historic architecture. The gallery windows and soaring bridgeway, equally impressive, create a sense of dialogue with their surroundings. Free admission to the Museum is included, with time for lunch on your own.
Led by Lisa Costello, director of Parkland Art Gallery, the group departs from Parkland Business Training & Community Education on Thursday at 7 a.m. and returns at 6:30 p.m. The trip includes roundtrip transportation and tour, and is $85 per person; register by June 28.
