Band, Orchestra to Perform "Winds of March"

Free! Enjoy a variety of classics in joint spring semester concert 

Enjoy "The Winds of March," a joint concert of the Parkland Orchestra and Parkland Concert Band, to be held Sunday, March 4, at 3 p.m. in Parkland College's Harold and Jean Miner Theatre.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Parkland Orchestra, directed by Rodney Mueller, will perform Ragtime Dance and A Stop-Time Two-Step from Joplin Ragtime by Scott Joplin, arr. by Peter Lawson; Scottish March (The Earl of Ross March) by Claude Debussy, arr. by Clark McAlister; Peer Gynt: suite No. 1, Op. 46 by Edvard Grieg; West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein; and Romeo and Juliet Overture by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

Directed by Larry Stoner, the Parkland Concert Band will perform A Festival Prelude by Alfred Reed; Mannin Veen by Haydn Wood; Amazing Grace by Frank Ticheli; Funiculi, Funicula by Luigi Denza; Marche Slave by Pyotr Tchaikovsky; and America the Glorious by Edwin Kleffman.
