Nate Mast/Parkland Basketball Youth Academy

Ages 6-14

 
The Champaign Park District and Nate Mast proudly announce the third annual Nate Mast Parkland Basketball Academy hosted at the recently renovated Dodds Athletic Center (formerly Parkland Gymnasium). These camps were so popular last year tht this year we have offered two sessions for each camp. The academy will offer individualized instruction in basketball fundamentals for all levels of talent. Campers develop several skills including shooting, ball handling, passing, dribbling, defensive positioning and footwork. Camp T-shirt or prize included in fee.
 
Session I:
Ages 6-10       June 4-8      Mon-Fri    9am-12pm
Ages 11-14     June 4-8      Mon-Fri    1pm-4pm
 
Session II:
Ages 6-10       June 11-15  Mon-Fri    9am-12pm
Ages 11-14     June 11-15  Mon-Fri    1pm-4pm
 
 

Nate Mast/Parkland Basketball Boys High School Elite Camp

Ages 13-18 (boys entering 9th through 12th grade)
 
This one day elite camp is designed for players looking to build their games for high school and beyond. The camp will touch upon all areas of basketball, including how to train for the college level. Topics include individual drills, guard and post breakdown, offensive scoring techniques, a "chalk talk" on recruiting (very popular), NCAA clearinghouse eligibility, and strength training plus conditioning. Participants will compete in individual and team competitions. Lunch included in camp fee.
 
Ages 13-18     June 30       9am-3pm
 
Location: Parkland College Gymnasium
Fee: $60, t-shirt and lunch included in price

 
MEET THE COACH
Coach Nate Mast
Head Coach, Parkland Men's Basketball
Coach Mast enters his third season as the head coach for the Parkland College Cobras men's basketball team. A native of Champaign, Coach Mast attended Central High School and went on to play for the University of Illinois while earning his bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies. Coach Mast began his coaching career both at the U of I and at the University of Kansas as a graduate assistant for Bill Self. Mast served two years as an assistant at UA Fort Smith before returning home to coach for the Cobras. Coach Mast has coached all levels of talent and will instruct campers in the basic fundamentals that he teaches at Parkland.
