Attention fall 2013 nursing applicants!
The
CNA Nursing requirement is waived for fall 2013 program applicants who
are enrolled in or will complete a CNA program by August 2013.
Applicants are encouraged to apply before the March 1, 2013 deadline.
Nursing Program
Our Associate Degree Nursing Program prepares the student to practice nursing at a beginning level, such as a staff nurse position in health care facilities including hospitals, extended care facilities, clinics, and other community agencies. The program integrates practice and theory and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Graduates are eligible to take the R.N. license examination (NCLEX-RN). Students considering application to the Nursing program need to be aware of background check and potential legal limitations. Advanced standing may be granted to licensed practical nurses. Part-time schedules are available.
LPN to ADN Bridge Program: Advanced standing may be granted to licensed practical nurses when there are enough qualified candidates to offer the bridge class. If not, students will need to complete the classes in the RN sequence. Applicants must be graduates of a state-approved LPN program with a license or eligible for licensure in Illinois.
The Selective Admissions Process
NOTE: Nursing is a competitive selective admissions program. You may not take any NUR courses until you have been admitted to the Nursing Program.
