Music Education AFA
Music Foundations AA
Music Performance AFA

What you’ll do:
Prepare for either a Music Education or Music Performance degree by obtaining a thorough grounding in the General Education Core Curriculum and in core music courses at Parkland College. Parkland students who are interesting in exploring careers in music while completing general education courses needed for transfer should consider the Associate in Arts in Music Foundations.
You will work with excellent faculty who hold doctorates in music composition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and who are professional musicians. Many faculty are published authors and BMI composers.

Where you’ll go:
Go on to complete a baccalaureate degree through which you can pursue careers in elementary or high school music education, such as choral conductor or band/orchestra director. You may also teach privately or pursue personal performance opportunities with metropolitan orchestras, opera companies, or similar music organizations.
